About
The idea for Peanut Free Products came to mind in the Spring of 2007. While trying to arrange a simple vacation to Mexico I found myself struggling to find simple information. Finding an airline’s policy on peanuts or the general safety of Mexican cuisine became a stress inducing event. I found myself searching through news archieves in an effort to find my airline’s policy on peanuts, the possibity of connections and changing carriers only complicated the matter. Finding a simple easy to read guide to cuisine is equally hard. Try googling “peanut allergy and eating out in mexico” and you will see what I mean. I threw in the towel on online research and eventually consulted 3 different friends from South America who were able to provide simple, ellitette answers.
On my trip I was discussing my ordeal with my travel partners and with a look of shock one of them proclaimed “Wait there is not a website that just lists all the information for you?! There has got to be I bet you just didn’t look hard enough.” Having worked as a professional market researcher over 3 years I was confident in my abilities, but still felt the need to sneak away to the local internet cafe and double check. Could I have missed a massive database containing all my answers?
By the existence of this website and my products I’m sure you have already realized I couldn’t find any such database. I originally begun compiling research for myself and others I know with an allergy. As I progressed I begun to I realize I was creating an amazing resource for those with a peanut allergy looking to really enjoy life. I also realized I was investing a lot of my personal and business time.. A collegue suggested to me that if I am going to do something I should do it right: He suggested investing the neccessary hours to create a high qualify collection of information and then offer it to others dealing with the same problem.
At first I wasn’t comfortable with the idea of charging money for something I was passionate about. When I proclaimed this to my collegue she asked me how I expected to live a happy life if I never wanted to be paid for work I invest my life into and passionately create. I was out of arguments. I borrowed money to pay for translations, research and other costs. I then incorporated The Peanut Freedom Research Group and invested the time to create a great product that I hope will change lives.
Please let me know if there is any way I can go above and beyond to serve you. Product suggests and feedback are always cherished.
